Terms of use

1. About these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of steelatelier.com (the "Site") and any purchase you make from Steel Atelier. Steel Atelier is a brand of ArqaVelle LLC, a Delaware limited liability company ("Steel Atelier", "we", "us", "our").

By using the Site or placing an order, you agree to these Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, Shipping Policy and Refund Policy, which form part of these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to place an order. By placing an order, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and complete.

3. Our products

Every Steel Atelier piece is laser-cut from steel, finished with a powder coat and made to order in our workshop in Turkey.

  • Natural variation: Because each piece is made individually, small variations in finish, texture and edges may occur. These are part of the character of a made-to-order product and are not defects.
  • Colors and images: We make every effort to show our products accurately. Colors and finishes may look slightly different on your screen, and lifestyle images may include digitally created scenes to show how a piece could look in a space.
  • Dimensions: Sizes are stated in inches and centimeters. Measurements are approximate and may vary slightly.
  • Multi-panel pieces: Some larger sizes are supplied in two or more panels designed to be aligned on the wall. Fine seams between panels are part of the design.

4. Indoor and outdoor use

Unless a product page states otherwise, our pieces are designed for indoor walls and covered outdoor spaces such as covered patios, porches and terraces. Fully exposed locations, pool surrounds and coastal areas expose steel to more moisture and salt. Please contact us before ordering for these locations. Following the care instructions on our Materials & Care page helps keep your piece looking its best.

5. Orders

Your order is an offer to buy. A contract is formed when we send you an order confirmation email. We may refuse or cancel an order, for example if a product is unavailable, if there is an error in the price or product information, or if we suspect fraud. If we cancel an order after payment, we will refund you in full.

Because our pieces are made to order, production begins shortly after your order is confirmed. If you need to change or cancel your order, please contact us as soon as possible. We cannot guarantee changes once production has started.

6. Custom orders

For custom sizes or designs, we will confirm the details, price and estimated timeline with you before production. Once you approve a custom order and production begins, it is made specifically for you and cannot be cancelled, returned or refunded, except if it arrives damaged or does not match the approved specifications.

If you send us your own design, photo or idea, you confirm that you own it or have permission to use it, and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights. We may decline any custom request at our discretion.

7. Prices and payment

All prices are shown in the currency displayed at checkout. We may change prices at any time, but changes will not affect orders already confirmed. If a product is listed at an incorrect price due to an error, we may cancel the order and refund you, or contact you to confirm the correct price.

Payment is due in full when you place your order. Payments are processed securely by our payment providers. We do not store your full card details.

8. Taxes and import duties

For international orders, any applicable import duties and taxes are either included in the price or shown at checkout before you pay. You will not be asked to pay additional duties on delivery unless we tell you otherwise before you complete your order.

9. Shipping and delivery

Estimated production and delivery times are provided on our Site and in our Shipping Policy. They are estimates, not guarantees, and may be affected by carriers, customs or events outside our control. Risk of loss passes to you when the order is delivered to the shipping address you provided.

Please inspect your order on arrival. If it is damaged in transit, contact us within 7 days of delivery with photos of the item and packaging, and we will make it right.

10. Returns and refunds

Returns and refunds are governed by our Refund Policy. Nothing in these Terms affects any rights you have under consumer protection laws that apply to you, including the right of EU and UK consumers to cancel certain purchases within 14 days. Please note that custom-made items are excluded from this right.

11. Installation and safety

Our pieces are made of steel and can be heavy and have sharp edges. Please follow our installation instructions and use mounting hardware suitable for your wall type and the weight of the piece. Larger pieces should be installed by at least two people. If you are unsure, consult a professional installer.

You are responsible for choosing a suitable location and for installing the piece safely. We are not responsible for damage or injury caused by improper installation, unsuitable walls or hardware, or failure to follow our instructions.

12. Intellectual property

All designs, images, text, logos and other content on the Site are owned by or licensed to Steel Atelier and are protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. You may not copy, reproduce, sell, modify or distribute our designs or content, or use them to manufacture similar products, without our written permission.

Buying a piece gives you ownership of that physical artwork, not of the design itself.

13. Reviews and content you share

If you submit reviews, photos or other content, you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display and share it on our Site, social media and marketing. You confirm that your content is your own, is accurate and does not violate anyone's rights. We may remove content at our discretion.

14. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Site, including by attempting to gain unauthorized access, disrupting its operation, using automated tools to collect content, or using the Site for any unlawful or fraudulent purpose.

15. Third-party links and services

The Site may contain links to third-party websites or use third-party services. We are not responsible for their content, policies or practices.

16. Disclaimer

Except as expressly stated in these Terms or required by law, the Site and our products are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. This does not limit any warranty rights that cannot be excluded under the laws that apply to you.

17. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Steel Atelier will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of profits or data, arising from your use of the Site or our products. Our total liability for any claim relating to an order will not exceed the amount you paid for that order.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

18. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold Steel Atelier harmless from any claims, losses or expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Site, or content you submit to us.

19. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute will be handled by the state or federal courts located in Delaware.

If you are a consumer in the EU or the UK, you also benefit from any mandatory protections of the law of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in the courts of that country.

20. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. The Terms in force when you place an order apply to that order.

21. General

If any part of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest will remain in effect. Our failure to enforce any right does not waive that right. These Terms, together with the policies referred to above, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding your use of the Site and your purchases.
